Please note that all job interview reports in our database are thoroughly reviewed
for quality and integrity. Each report has approximately 10
questions that interviewee was asked (many reports have much more
than that) and is at least 500 words long. Also, each report has an advice
section written by the interviewee and targeted for job seekers who
will be interviewing at the company. You can review

I was contacted about job openings at Deloitte Consulting through a recruiter after publishing my information on the career websites. The recruiter called me and informed me about hiring needs in the Life Sciences division, and did a phone screen to verify the experiences listed on my resume. The recruiter asked many questions such as: Why did you move into consulting after your Ph.D.? Do you think you will consider going back to academia? What industries have you served in your current job? How much time did you spend ‘on the ground’ at the client site? After answering all those questions, the next step was to fit me into one of the interview days set up for the Northeast region. Initially, I was supposed to fly down to New York for the interviews, but that eventually changed and I went for my interviews in the Boston office instead. The process took a few weeks, as HR was working out the logistics for all the interviews on those specific days.
On the day of the on-site interview, I went to the Boston office on Clarendon Street, and I was set up for three one-hour interviews. The lineup was the VP of the Life Sciences division of the Healthcare Practice Area, a senior manager, and a manager who was recently hired from the industry, but who had an advanced degree like myself. |
